And I woke up to this!

Ya Know, If you can't handle kittens as Cats, Rescue is not for you :)

You mop one day, disinfecting everything the night before, Thinking, It's very important to keep all germs at bay.

If someone stops by, the last thing you need is the mess

But sometimes,

It's just unavoidable

I've left the papertowel mess on the floor, I've been sitting here watching them contiune to play with the little pieces floating in the air current from the air conditioning.

I just can't take away their play time, not just yet

I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY MANY

I thought I should write on this subject......
People who find themselves in a position of their females getting pregnant, having their cute little babies, and then the human, not knowing what to do with the babies...

LAST RESORT should NEVER be the POUND

Those of us who put off getting our cats fixed WILL regret it later.
I remember once, I had a female cat about 10 years ago.
She had babies, and I took her into the vet after the babies were weaned, to find out, it was to late to get her fixed, she was already pregnant again.....

THIS IS SOOOO COMMON it HURTS!
I left the vets office BAWLING!

I was given the option of abortion, but after what I had saw with this first batch of babies, I couldn't go through with it.

SO I found myself with 4 new babies, the mom cat and MORE on the way!
I was soooo PISSED at myself for not getting that free spay voucher and getting the job done when I should have!

LIFE IS HARD!
I have 2000 excuses why I thought I COULD NOT take that few minutes out of my day to get that cat fixed in the first place, when I should have.

I could have taken that cat to the pound with all of the babies, but I knew what chances they did not have in that environment.
So I researched rescues,
We All Know that rescues NEVER have the room to take in animals.
So I found one, they said, If I could pay $5 per cat as a donation, they would take in the cat, her babies and find them all homes.
So that was what I did.

NEVER EVER DROP OFF A CAT OR KITTEN TO A RESCUE WITHOUT DONATING!

I have found through my experience, while bottle feeding, it cost SOOO much to raise those babies! Not only in formula, vets and supplies, but also in time and sanity!!!

SERIOUSLY,
At this point in time, My Marbles are GONE!
I think the kittens found them on the craft table and decided "FUN"

Now, I have very few resources
I have had people come to me and ask me to take their kittens.
I have had to turn away A Lot of people!
I'm Losing my house for God's sake!
What happens to these kittens if I lose my House!

No One thinks about the person they are leaving or abandoning these lives with.

NO ONE
It's a matter of,,
The problem is off their hands and they can feel better about their situation.

If You are in this situation to where your female is pregnant, Do your share of the work. That's the only advice I can offer to anyone.
I have had to transform my life! My families Lives to fix this issue in the neighborhood.
And I feel it has been effective, we are seeing no new kittens in our neighborhood,
There is one little one out there, Which wasn't trapped in May along with 4 or 5 other adult cats. WHICH I AM DYING TO TRAP! but cannot until I get the funds to do this.

But compared to March, April, May and June..... Totaling over 50 kittens
This is a GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT!

If you find yourself in this position, Find your strength like I had to do.
Get the kittens the mamma cat has fixed for free through the state, ahcccs, nip and tuck organization and then rehome the babies by putting ads up on craigslist, az family.com, in your local vets offices.
Meet your neighbors, Let them feel valuable again by helping you find them homes.
You are only ALONE when You do not make the effort,
Then the babies get 8 weeks on this earth before they are put to sleep.

That is not fair

I have been through this, the good and the bad.
This year has been very difficult, Once we get past this financial kitten mess,
My Life has literally taken a new direction...

I have found strength in areas of myself that I had no idea exisited.
I have found friends in the community
I have found that I really do Like other people and some, I have totally been disqusted with, even with myself.

Talk about a Lesson. Holy Cow!

OOPS I forgot!

I had totally forgot!
We have offically adopted George!
The first stray we had sterilzed!

He came into our house 3 days ago now, and shows no desire to go back outside. He did go out last evening, but it started to rain,
He was meowing under my poor truck for someone to come get him!

Boy, I think he's already spoiled!!!
He even get's along with my Pigeon!!
Not that I allow to close of a contact.

You know, I love adult cats, Instantly bond with them,
Kittens, I can adopt out without that bond and know they are getting another chance.
Strays, boy do they have my heart.
I am completely helpless and hopeless when it comes to adult cats.

When Crank was wanting to come in, I did not let him.
I regret that
He got hit by a car the day before his scheduled surgery.
George I will  NOT regret!

Of course, If Someone out there is looking for a great personality to share their home with, George is neutered and I'd love to see him have his own person.

I'll post pictures when I get my laptop back :)

This week in The Cottonpuff feral cat project

Like most people, I want results NOW, All the time.
Realizing that everything happens in perfection allows us to allow patience with ourselves and with the projects we take on.
I actually believe allowing patiences takes SUPERHUMAN Ablitities!!

So in the past few weeks, 2 weeks anyhow
Nothing for donations have been coming in, I am feeling exteremly stressed with the house and our personal finances.

Yesterday, 3 adoptions were accomplished!
We are sooo happy!
Our household is down to 13 kittens left to be neutered or pre-homed.
We have 3 kittens now at the vets being taken care of.

The money to do this is non-existant
Soon, God Soon, we will hold the fundraiser yardsale
Hopefully that will cover the <$900 we've spent out of our income to raise the babies and get our house back on track.

Nothing like losing your home over cats...Well and from the other financial disasters that had shown their ugly faces.

We do not have much longer before we can start the TNR again!!
I am getting so impatient for that!
I realize what we are doing right now is A Lot, but still with the TNR being the focus and NOT being done, it just feels Defeating.

Once my computer is home and working, I can share more pictures with you, Until then, I get to rant and rave!

I had to go out and get fattening cat food yesterday ($75 worth w/ coupons)
The orange kittens we took in from the pound had lost so much weight!
There were 5 kittens total that day we took them, 2 are already adopted out and the last 3 I have to keep until they are fat again.

Miscommunication between cats and myself, I thought they were already eating dry cat food, turns out, they are soooooo particular with what they eat!
Only the wet stuff mom!

They are sooo sweet, cuddly and playful. They have full appetites for the foods they like, and will starve themselves if they don't like their food!
Now for myself, I have always been a low maintance kind of woman!
and to take on such creatures that are soooo NEEDY,, it really changes the way I do things.
I am not only stretched across 6 people, Making everyone elses lifes Livable, but now cater to these picky eater cats!

I think it's amazing how people will evolve their lives to suit others, and to the extent that we do.

So I have some great people doing what they can for the areas they are passionate about also, When you get a few minutes, check out their missions.

This week in the rescue world.........

Cloe and Lady Gertrude both found homes yesterday through the rescue!
I'm offering the kittens for $35 each before they are considered rescue cats.
The kittens I offer are spayed or neutered from my own pocket from donations and my husbands income.
I wish I had a place to take them to myself, that way the rehoming fee could be more affordable for people.
I just want to see them get good homes and be able to neuter another, and another and another.
To stop the problem at the source.
Mesa is so over run by strays and ferals populating the streets.
I want to make it possible for cat owners to use me to get their cats fixed.
Soon, through fundraising and other venues, That will be possible!
First thing first! Neuter the kittens that are here!

Well The Bottle Feeders are Becoming of Age

 For anyone interested, Walmart has the Purina cat food on sale for $9.something a bag.

The Big Black Cat is Big Fluff, he was one that we took in years ago and just found out the other day, he is considered a Himalyian or something like that.
He's Huge And Squeezable, He's not up for adoption, (of course unless I lose my home)
The Orange love you see is a male on the neuter list for this month. He was one of the rescued pound babies, (which I have never done before and am not planning on doing ever again So people get your cats fixed, an angel may not rescue them next time)

This beauty We call Lady. So very sweet, but needs to be an only cat. She really does not like knowing there are others out there that are just as beautiful. Shes approx: 9weeks old and spayed.
The next Kitten you see is My Ohm, He is so laid back! He wants his Zen Warrior,  but she disappeared. We are waiting for another soul mate to show up for him. He is a 10 week old neutered male.
 

His rehoming fee is $35.00

The little Golden cat you see has been at the kennel for a while now :(
She is so sad, Just waiting to be able to claim a couch to sleep on, that's all she wants!

The Psychology of Adoptions

Adoptions are very difficult

It's not up to me to sell the kitten to the person

But to sell the atmosphere

What ever possessed me to adopt all my animals!
WoW

When I think back to each of the moments that I had
Decided I had to have this Creature,

That one moment of Pure True Love

Animal adoptions are 99% SPONTAINOUS

It's the feel of the moment that we just can not let go of.
The thought that we are one with this creature.
At this moment

We are needed

They truely do need us,

Thinking back to BoBo our first rescue
He was no more than a day old and was facing the same fate
as his siblings.

Death at the hands of humans that saw no other alternative.

I can't really blame them
Indiviual's ablitity for compassion are all at different priority levels.

We took him, bottle fed him, Loved him, got him neutered and He is still
With us.

Cottonpuff
He was a newborn rescued from the same fate this year.
We kept him and fostered out his siblings to others.
He is now a beautiful Siamese Wanna Be.

Was bred on purpose.
I'm wondering how many of Bears siblings are now at the local pound
or being kept as OUTDOOR dogs in the Arizona Heat.

The last picture is of the Famous Flea Baby incident
Yes there was drama
We took the 3 babies in, as ferals from a homeless woman
This homeless woman had a good heart,
But was homeless

When we got them they were sick, dying and full of fleas
We paid for their treatments
Did what we had to do to make them healthy!

And then the homeless lady demanded them back.

After a short battle, we lost..

We then found their pictures on Craigslist and called the number
Pretending to be just people who wanted the cats.

We got the babies back from a lie!
We contiuned their treatments and a lovely girl who really wanted to help
Adopted the female!
She sends us pictures and updates, we are soo in  love with this woman!

The little grey one, we called Julius was adopted about a month ago
By another Wonderful Pet Lover!
And Scout, the black and white kitty is still with me,

Waiting to find his forever home.
He goes to the rescue window today Along with Ohm

My Two Boys!

I'd love to keep them, But they need a person,
Not a colony

I don't have time to give them the love that they want, with all the other kittens around.

They will be cherished by someone in a better position than I'm in.

I believe people who adopt the animals
Are very Hope-filled people

There's not many of those people around.
But when they show themselves,, the whole world brightens up

Those are the moments that cause us to adopt a creature

We Live For the Hope, So do they

Computer Is Down for the Count!

I have not had much time to blog lately about the on goings here at the house with all the kitties being rescued, I really do not have time now either but heres some exciting quick updates!

The Kitty you see in this first photo is one of 5 that were taken to the pound. Before the lady surrendered them, we had a long chat about getting her mom cat fixed and how important it is to society that she takes on her responsiblity.

   We took her 5 babies that were going to be surrendered and their appointment date to get fixed is in this month! So instead of the pound having to put down 5 other cats just to make room for these babies, we not only saved their lives but gave another resident of the pound a few more days of residing there.

All of the kittens we have taken in are well cared for during their stay and before they leave they get their first shots and they are neutered or spayed. The donations that do come to us, come in very helpful.

For all those that have said, to me, that there is no hope and I should have never started,
I'd like for you to look at these babies and ask them, If they thought it was worth ever last penny.Our babies are rehomed for $30 a piece to cover the spay for the clinic and to help provide food and supplies for all the other babies that we can take in.

Our rescuers thank you and the babies thank you for donating to make their lives possible
On the progressive side; Tons of yardsale items are coming in to help provide the funds we need to continue saving lives and reducing animal cruelty.
Petco has agreed to start putting our flyers in with their customers purchases so that our mission becomes clear and more can find ways to help.

We are planning the first yardsale in early August, Yes it will be hot but it will be worth it! We are going to be doing face painting, Gold Canyon Candle fundraiser booth, Photo taking, Kitten play area, music and a raffle for a nintendo wii system.

I'll have the exact date when we get closer to the end of July.

Kitty's and the ongoings here!

No Pictures for today, My Laptop has decided it doesn't want to play, so I am using my daughters.

Hum I wonder what pictures she has on here, I Think I'll take a minute to go look........

Well this is Interesting!

We are finishing up the first cat playhouse today
and

working on the isolation play house for any kittens that need medical attention.

I couldn't stand keeping a kitten who came down with an issue, in a kennel.
So
I took some wood from out back and began the kitty play hospital,
I'll have 2 floors

the bottom for the litter box
the top for climbing and hunting

Yesterday I was talking to a friend when she inspired me to get off my butt and get something done

That's when my laptop agreed with her, it shut down and has refused to restart :)

I've got homework due today that is stored on that laptop,

No problem.

I'll just start over today and get that submitted.

Meanwhile kittens are all doing fine
Gina is to be at the Petco today on warner and val vista
Working on adopting out some of the little guys

I'll have to run up there today and pass out the flyers to the people hitting all the other stores
So that she gets more traffic
